Clash detection helps in effective identification, inspection and reporting of interferences in a project model within the CAD drawing. A clash occurs when elements of different models (3D solid objects) occupy the same space. Clash detection dialog enables users to define/select two sets of 3D solids - base and reference ones - among which a clash detection analysis is made and eventual clashes are displayed in clashes list.
Watch the tutorial below:
The buttons of the dialog are defined as follows:
First set:
List of 3D solids with materials definition opens up (similar as in Property Set filter) to select all elements with defined material selected. |
|
Select (first) base set of 3D solid objects in the drawing |
Second set:
List of 3D solids with materials definition opens up (similar as in Property Set filter) to select all elements with defined material selected. |
|
Select (second) reference set of 3D solid objects in the drawing |
After selection confirmation, clashes are analyzed and if any, a list of clashes displays where user has the option to click on the clash listed and thus highlight it in the drawing.
CGS Labs Clash Analysis tool makes “hard clash” analysis – checks for objects, which pass through each other. Example: when 3D solid pipe passes through street light foundation this is identified as a clash and listed in the Clash UI.
